Allied College – Allied offers Missouri students a dental assisting diploma as well as an AAS degree. These programs instruct students in course material such as dental x-ray procedures, chairside equipment use, laboratory procedures, dental office administration and other critical skills, and include an externship where students gain real-world experience.

Americare School of Nursing – The dental assisting program at this Florida-based medical college educates dental assisting students over 1,010 hours of classroom and clinical instruction. The program ends with a clinical externship and covers areas like general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral and Maxillofacial surgery and Periodontics.

Everest College – The dental assisting program at Everest covers topics like dental x-rays, dental anatomy and laboratory procedures. Training takes place in a laboratory-like setting, utilizing major dental equipment such as dental chairs, oxygen tanks and ultrasonic units.

Kaplan Career Institute – Students in Massachusetts, Michigan, Tennessee and Texas can enroll in this diploma program, which covers topics like patient care, dental x-rays, tooth impressions, oral surgery assisting and oral evacuation. Remington College – The 8-month diploma program at Remington College covers oral anatomy, radiology, and dental science fundamentals and is available to students in Cleveland, Ft. Worth, Houston and Nashville. The program ends in an externship where students gain clinical experience.

Sanford-Brown College – Students in Missouri can enroll in this program, which covers dental anatomy, pathology, radiography, chairside techniques and dental laboratory and office administration. The program is split into lecture, lab and clinical components, as well as a final externship.

Southeastern Career Institute – This school’s Dallas and Midland, TX locations offer a dental assisting diploma that covers chair-side, office and lab procedures. After the 300-hour externship, graduates can apply for entry-level employment and take exams for dental radiology certification.

The program is around 4 months long and is accredited by the DETC.
